I am Roopa, watercolour artist from Bengaluru. I made this calendar for year 2026. It has 12 unique illustrations of trees of Bengaluru for 12 months. The tree for each month is chosen based on the blooming time. All the illustrations are done in watercolours. The purpose of this calendar is to create a small tree guide of the garden city for people who are learning about it and a souvenir for the people who know and treasure the status.

I am Roopa. I am self-taught watercolour and ink artist active for past 4 years. I split my time between Bengaluru and my hometown Davanagere.I moved to my hometown during the pandemic. After spending a decade in Bengaluru and being accustom to its fast pace life one thing I had in abundance was time. So, I started to sketch to fill time which paved a way to painting. I found my calling in ink and wash arts. Its and art form where line works are done in ink with watercolour wash.Watercolours are unforgiving medium you cannot paint over it like in other mediums. You have to incorporate your mistakes into your art. Which for a coder who codes and recodes till a module compile with zero error was a challenging task. But it also opened up another prospective where mistakes are ok and accepted with no judgement.I Immensely enjoy making ink and wash paintings and have enjoyed for past 5 years and now it is time to put them Infront of the audience and let them have their own journey.
As an artist it is difficult to part with your pieces. But I am also curious to know where these artworks will find their home.
